What? Have you watched the NFL recently? There's good reason to have a strong pass-catching TE (eg: Gronk, Jimmy Graham, etc.).

I dont care about the Niners. Best pick for the Iggs? They have two above average tight ends already. Take a flyer on a third later in the draft.

And this guy led top level college football in receptions and yardage for a TE.

He was universally rated just below the ND kid as a top player at his position (and better by some) ... and a top organization was widely thought to be all over his jock in this round.

With Celek, Casey, and Ertz.....I'd expect a boat load of 2 TE, 1 QB quick snap ball ala the Pats.

That area is over, Chipper's O can have three TEs on the field.

As Chip put it about the mismatches big TEs cause "If teams go big(slow) on D then we throw, if they go small(fast) we run...pick your poison."

I don't disagree with Maniac that there are more pressing concerns, but I don't have a problem with stocking up here at that position, even with two above average guys, when a guy like him is there.

i don't like going with him that high. there is such a minimal difference in tight ends. they're not a commodity. i would have gambled on a tight end later in the draft if i wanted one. i think the eagles have enough offensive weapons already for kelly to succeed. fix the defense please.

anyway, i don't like the pick. not going to beat it into the ground.
