  • Barkley v. Smith

    No Contest...Barkley > Smith

The Barkley interviews demonstrate a quarterback who believes in himself and he will honestly be driven by teams passing on him and he sounds like he opens his arms to the challenge..whereas Smith has a sense of entitlement and when the chips are done he will take his ball and go home.

The more I learn about Barkley the more I like this kid

If the quotes are true about Geno being thin skinned he would have never survived here. And he won't survive in New York either.

Major difference in athleticism with smith clearly being superior on that front. Not sad geno isn't an eagle regardless.

I'm not sold on him being super-athletic. Smith is a pocket passer and isn't fast...?

I would definitely give the athleticism nod to Smith but I think Barkley is a leader and seems to be wired the way you want a winning quarterback to be wired. I am going off interviews and articles I am reading plus his response to being drafted in the 4th round and the difference between how both guys responded to dropping in the draft is night and day.

He was the fastest qb in the combine. He didn't run a lot in college but he is fast.

Smith was .2 secs faster. There weren't many athletic type qbs in this draft. What good does speed do you if you don't like to use it?
