  • I Like this Draft

Think about it. Under FF, when the Eagles reached, it was for a blind Division II lineman. Under Kelly, at least so far, when the Eagles reach, it is for a QB from USC that was a top five prospect last year.

So, even if these guys turn out to be busts, chumps, and jagoffs, at least they appear to have better chances. Sort of the big school/small school theory posted elsewhere.

I give it an A- (not sure about the safety)

But calling Barkley a reach seems inaccurate.

I also dislike grading drafts out of the gate, but think they probably did a good job at combining need and BPA strategy.

      What? The safety

is the most intriguing player drafted to me.

Reid inherited the blind guard Mayberry. Can't recall the school he came from though... maybe because, well, it was small.

Texas A&I University. But Reid and the rest of them panicked at times because of need--that's how players like Pinkston, Mitchell, Quentin Caver, Jerome McDougle, Jaiqwann Jarrett got drafted.
