Looks like we're stuck with the dog killer.

Alright, so he's blaming Vick's problems on the O-line injuries

He was pointing out the obvious. No team can lose 4 offensive linemen and expect to compete. I said it before and I'll say it again. Tom Brady or Drew Brees could have been the QB last year and the results would have been the same. You can't win without an offensive line and that line was as bad as it gets.

BRees MANNING BRADY would figure things out if their OL stayed in the locker room for the game. Vick would not. Anyone who thinks Vick would be a diFferent QB with a healthy OL ........needs to go back and look at the games.
If this is Vicks last year here, why would he even be considered for the starting QB? This coming season should be used to determine who the QB OF THE FUTURE will be or determine that no one is worthy and plan accordingly. The only way you do that is o get FOLES, Dixon Barkley in games that count. Vick ..if he is still on the team in Sept should be #4.

Could Chip be making a sales pitch for a possible trade of Vick to some desperate team later during the summer. Teams that were desperate for qbs got some in the draft but a lot can happen during camp. Some of them just might suck running the WC, like sanchez and smith in ny. You never know what can happen.
Yes the Oline sucked last season. Which Qb did a better job of running the offense when the line constantly broke down. Foles did because of an average of 2.7 seconds to get the ball out while it took Vick greater than 3 seconds some times holding it for 4 seconds. Foles can actually lead a wr put the ball where the wr will be not where he is at. His field vision is far superior to the Dog Killer.
I really think this is more about yes getting a look Vick and somehow a miracle happens and his brain reacts quicker making reads and he gets the ball out fast. Doubt that happening. But some desperate team might offer something for him. His contract is very friendly now. Time will tell I guess.Last edited by iowaigglefan; 04-30-2013, 10:36 AM.

man, I'm glad we (hopefully) don't have to deal with THAT anymore.

The best path forward is to do an evaluation of the entire offense and the likely way to do that is with a veteran QB. Otherwise, you can't isolate the problem areas while simultaneously breaking in a new guy.
Stated another way, Vick's job is to be the test pilot - try out the new rocket while eliminating one variable from the experiment
Zero sense in ruining a new guy until you have some continuity on the OL and skill positions in the new offensive scheme. Its perfectly OK for Vick to go down in flames, but you don't want to ruin the new guy's confidence until there is a better team/scheme around him

Vick is the throw away, he's in Philly to keep the eagles competitive while the new offense, defense and QB are developed
If the team really craters early on, then the front office is under immense pressure to make changes too soon. IF the team shows some promise, it buys the GM, HC and coordinators the time they need to bring their plans to fruition
Vick is being sacrificed, kind of ironic given his dog killer appellation
