  • Finally saw that great Lincoln movie

Benjamin Walker was so much more believable as Abe than that hammy hack DD Lewis.

Day-Lewis did his best Bane impression in that movie. Honestly, if using that voice equates to an Academy Award, then Tom Hardy deserves the Oscar more than Day-Lewis.

Certain people, who have little to no credibility outside of girls' high school sports, act like they know exactly how Lincoln talked and acted. As always, they're wronger than wrong and can't admit it.

Keep Talking About DDL That Way...

        Moi?

Thou art wrong, moron -- I cited numerous articles and stories provided by our good friend Google, talking about people who HAVE done exhaustive research (as much is possible for a subject like this), and it was THEY that said the voice DDL used was as close as can be determined to Lincoln's speaking voice.

And now that I have schooled you so completely, go sit in traffic you poor excuse for a wad of snail slime!

So you reciting secondhand research on a topic that you yourself admits is hard to research means you schooled me?

          No credibility.

            I Definitely Did

You criticized me for making the statements I did, implying if not stating outright, that I based my remarks on my opinion alone.

I schooled you because I explained the statements I made were not mine alone but the EDUCATED opinions of individuals who researched the subject as much as any human could.

In other words, your accusations hold about as much water as a bucket after it's been used for target practice by an A-10.

As "close as can be determined" when no audio exists?

I just did an impression of Socrates at work. No one knows what he sounded like but there's a guy at work who emailed his wife who is a professor. She looked into it. My impression was spot on based on her research of Socrates written words.

                      Give me my Oscar.

                              Do A Little Research, Georgie

The articles/reports/stories used to determine how he sounded included things written or interviews conducted early this century -- people who who knew Lincioln or heard him speak. Countless Union soldiers heard him as he visited the various armies during the fighting and activities around the country, mainly occasions when he met and talked to injured soldiers, etc.

Put them all together and you have experts who say DDL sounded "like Lincoln"!!
