    Cole Hamels Is 1-9!

    Worst start by a Phils pitcher in over 100 years.

    I can't blame it on the contract because he signed it middle of last year and pitched well after he signed it. I have no idea what's wrong with him.

        Hamel's record isn't telling the whole story

        He hasn't pitched well also, but if you dissect his games this season you would see it's just not his pitching at fault for his record

          But the fact has been, while other teams' ones and twos routinely shut down the Phillies, Hamels hasn't been able to shut down anyone. A 5 ERA is a 5 ERA and 1-9 is 1-9, no matter how you slice it.

          Tonight was another matter. The losing's in his head now. He's gone from sub-par to a total mess.

              Defense didn't help last night and he got fucked by dinks and dunks.

              He made a perfect pitch on one guy that broke his bat and the guy hits a bloop for a single with the bases loaded.

              I agree, though, that he's totally mind-fucked right now.

                cole has had bad run support, bad defense, and bad luck. he still has good stuff but things aren't going his way this season.

                i'm frustrated but a lot of the speculation about hamels is unfair. he finished 07, 08, 11, and 12 in the top 10 in NL ERA. in 2010 he was 12th in ERA at 3.06. after a rough april he became one of the best lefties in baseball that season. he'll be fine.

                    except not at all, because cliff lee finished last season with a very respectable 3.16 ERA, and was also in the top 10 in the NL in innings pitched and strikeouts.
