John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.
Do you agree that a starter should be named before training camp?
To see where Mike Vick said "Chip Kelly needs to just give me the job and be done with it" he wants the starter, why is that a bad thing ? If he just stepped aside and said that the job is Foles' or Barkley's to lose, then he'd be soft, and people would still be calling him a bitch. The man can't win in either situation. No matter what he does, people will find fault with it.
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is - Winston Churchill
the best people play, period. that's what TC is for: figuring that out.
and, the NFL is filled with teams that have gone from worst to first. if the OL stays healthy the eagles are definitely capable of doing the same thing. No season is a throw away in today's NFL. Too much parity and almost everybody has a shot if their best players are on the field.
this is an offseason event trying to become a distraction, overhype and overreaction by folks trying to look for anything.
If it gains momentum one can look back at this and say" here it where it started"..but I believe this is just an adjustment period until all parties get into synch.
I am by no way a Kelly supporter (more a wait and see type)but until he actually gets to know his players you cant fault him about not seeing this.
He might already have anticipated some blowback but perhaps his answer is not what we want as outside observers.

Yeah Chipper should just let the players tell him how to run things---including naming a starting QB before they get to training camp. I wish he wasn't so set on his college coaching ways.
I think people have a problem mostly with him saying that the coach should have a starter named before training camp. At least that is my issue with it. I don't rip Vick often for some of that other overblown stuff(and this might be overblown too) but I don't think its good form to come out publicly and question, even a little bit, a new coach. This isn't anything new and crazy...coaches have open competitions in training camp all of the time especially a brand new coach that still needs to sift through the shit on the roster.
