  • Watched the Desean Jackson movie

...explains a lot about who he is. Seems as if he grew up without a real childhood. His whole life was planned, like having an overbearing stage mother. The good and the bad exposed. It wasn't all positive and one thing Pops did was outright criminal.

You can rent and stream the movie on Amazon if you have prime. $3.99 for 7 days. Worth checking out whether you're a Jackson fan or not. Loved seeing the raw footage of big time college coaches recruiting him in high school. And yeah, the Andy Reid phone call was put in context. Can't say I blame FF after watching the whole movie.

Desean Jackson: The Making Of A Father's Dream He was definitely made. One takeaway was the family house during the NFL draft before Desean had any money. That was a house up in the Hills. Nice crib that would have sold for at least 2 million around 2008. Must have had some sort of advance from somebody.

His dad and family were a lot to deal with for sure, and as a coach, Andy saying that to him isn't out of line but the timing was fucking horrendous.

It's the biggest day of the kid's life, he just fell in the draft, experienced a rush of emotions and then his new coach says that to him in their first phone call? It clearly left a sour taste in DeSean and his family's mouth.

There were going to be more opportune times to give him that message IMO.

All in all, it was very interesting to see just how much DeSean worked to get where he is. Like you said, everything that happened definitely sheds some light on why he is the way he is.
