You're using a law passed in 2001 to justify an action in the 1910s...
And just because something is legal doesn't make it right. Or necessarily constitutional. But I don't think that was the contention. Even if it is legal, or isn't legal or is found not to be legal in the future, that really doesn't get to the heart of the issue.
The first time I worked at NSA I had to take a Lie detector test;
Just to get a visitor pass! The last time I went to NSA, my day shift escort went home before I was done work, and the 2nd shift guy called in sick. I was left alone to fend for myself! When I went to the main entrance on my own and asked the Marine guard to sign my work order, it caused a major panic. Over the years I have had fun with those 3 letter types. CIA FBI NSA HEW FCC Etc.

First, the way you worded your statement it makes it seem like you were referring to the NSA. It would have been clearer if you had stated "it was illegal."
Either way, if this guy believed a U.S. law was unconstitutional his vehicle to dispute the constitutionality is the court system.
In bypassing that check and balance he broke several laws. End of discussion.

Sorry - I thought I was just responding to your APL post.
Anyway, you need standing to make the claim and with the NSA, that's pretty hard to show.
But I wasn't really getting into that - Snowden is probably not a martyr, but he's not a villain either - he's definitely something in between.
