Chip ball here for a year.

    Oregon sanctions reported.

Any college wanting the Chipster within. The next 18 months needs to provide a Show cause . So chip ball here . Thought it would be for 2 years but with this report he's probably a one and done in Philly.

The NCAA has taken away three scholarships and placed Oregon's football program on probation for three years for recruiting violations under previous coach Chip Kelly.

They got a slap on the wrist. Minor violations, very minor penalties (-3 scholarships, no bowl ban). Pretty much a non-story.

The fact that a NCAA member school has to show cause to hire Kelly is the biggest aspect. Was that the case for Carroll as well?

Not sure. What happened when Carroll took his first opportunity to bail on the Seahawks and jump back to college? Oh, wait...

I don't think it's unreasonable to think that Kelly may go back to college if things don't work out. The problem CCPete has is that he assumed that Kelly is gone sooner rather than later before he'd really even begun.

I also wouldn't surprised if Carroll heads back to college either if the Seahawks struggle and a good opportunity opens up. Russell Wilson is probably the best bet against that at that moment.

So do a lot of people. Some trolls(well I guess just one in particular here) want to reiterate it over and over again so that if it does in fact happen they can yell "I told you so!" even though not many disputed the fact that it was completely reasonable/possible to begin with.

WHAT.??!!! This jumping on the CC bandwagon is just what I thought would happen. But you are saying that a General Manager just paid the highest salary for an NFL coach (or close to it) for a coach who 1.never coached a pro team before and 2. That it is "reasonable and possible"that he could bolt.

And lets be serious. no one here thinks he will leave after just a couple of years to go back to college coaching ....except of course CC who has a history of being right because he can see things that others don't want to see.

I think most people that you call Chip Kelly band-wagoners are intrigued by what he did at Oregon but very few see him as some sort of messiah that can't fail.

I know I said that regardless of who the Eagles the hire, the odds are that he'll fail. That's just what happens in the NFL. Most coaches fail. That's why there's always new hires each year. Kelly isn't exempt from that. I'm only exempting him from being declared a failure without any evidence.

You've deemed him as a failure and quitter from the start without actually seeing a single performance by the team he's coaching.

If he ends up failing, you'll get to say I told you so and sit on a mountain of glory while other fans get to simply "enjoy" what would be another shitty Eagles team.

If he succeeds, you get to enjoy in the Eagles' success with most likely minor blowback and/or you just leave the board. The second scenario is what I like to call "win-win".

It's obvious that you have little to lose in your assholery over this. It's the MO of any naysayer/constant bitcher. Kind of a shitty existence in my opinion, but you're free to embrace it.
