I just read that Quintero called for another slider but the pitch was flat and got too much of the plate.

It was DeFratus making a bad pitch.

I was just as pissed on that pitch as when Howard swung at a shitball on an 0-3 to ground into a DP with ducks on the pond earlier in the game.

You are right though, these guys make to many fundamental mistakes.

There is no way Howard should have been swinging there and no way DeFratus should put an 0-2 pitch anywhere near the plate.
