  • Interested in KG's take on this

In 1980, the United States boycotted the Moscow Olympics because of the then Soviet Union's invasion of Afghanistan. Four years later the Soviets bypassed the LA games.

However, that is not stopping USA Track and Field from selling this retro 1980 Moscow gear.

Why Not? Jiminy Peanut Fucked Up

Sticking his fucking nose into a sporting event was one of the most lame brained moves any United States president has ever made.

The ancient Greeks suspended wars when the games rolled around, and while the modern games became a sounding board for political idiologies as a result of the Cold War, Carter's bullshit decision deprived many of the athletes of the only chance they would have to compete on the biggest stage going.

The USOC should start by presenting Carter with a full set of whatever gear they are selling, complete with a certificate stating that they hope he'll remember what he did every time he sees it. Then they should use the money raised to help today's athletes as they fight to compete in future games.
