Atlantic Highlands for the Raritan bay/Navesink river

Also hit up Lake Hopatcong for lake fishing/boating. We have this big towable inflatable and haven't even tried it yet

You can take the Raritan River from Highland Park.....

.....right into the Raritan Bay. There's a boat ramp there at Donaldson Park in HP (across the river from New Brunswick). The ramp permit for the whole season is something like $50 for residents of Middlesex County, $80 for non-residents. We used to do that with my uncle when I was a kid. That is literally 5 minutes from your office. Bwah! You should park your boat at your office!

                How wide is the ramp?

I suck at backing up that thing down a ramp. Also a little concerned about the river at low tide - looks shallow!

Hopatcong is so much fun. If you guys ever do a fishing trip let me know. I've been catching lots of trout out here in PA. The first week of the season i was out in this creek and literally stumbled upon the biggest trout ive ever seen in person. Obviously stocked. I was so close I thought about noodling it out but I thought that would be lame. I was lobbing every fly and lure I had over this thing's head but the water was so cold he wasn't interested. Then he swam away. That fish is going to haunt me.

We hit Horseshoe cove last time

Straight zip right across the bay from Atlantic Highlands launch. Dropped anchor and swam/wade to the beach. Schools of bunker were in there too
