  • Question for Hordel or any in the know regarding Momah.

What the hell am I missing regarding Momah?

He looks fluid for a guy his size and appears to have good hands. He ran in the 4.4+ and he's 6'7" or something. He said he's played organized ball since he was 11. What's all this raw talk about him. I don't get it at all. I'm flummoxed...

    Checkered past maybe?

I think he may turn out to be a big time talent. Updraft? WTF?

This is how I enter a thread now. Its my intro fuckin music.

As you sit there all flummoxed, I'm in the gym bench pressing and curling a metric ton. I have hoes on standby to wipe my forehead everytime a bead of sweat builds up on 3I's temple.

Now back to your question. The kid was raw and has an addiction to the sticky icky.
500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.

Hell, that's legal in 11 states. He's worth the risk then. It's not like he's cappin' people in warehouse parking lots.

Just like that. I wonder if some dude just touched both of Ricc's shoulder with his penis and said..."Earl of Fag on the Avon...rise".

                  ...

I thought Momah was an interesting prospect at BC. He opened the 11' season with a huge game, something like 8 for 150 and I thought he was on the way to becoming a really interesting sleeper prospect. Then of course, he tore his ACL.

As you'd imagine, he didn't run all that well coming off the ACL and I started to think of him as a field-stretcber TE prospect.

Now futher removed from the injury he took part in the BC pro day and his numbers were outstanding. 40 in the 4.45s, broad of almost 11' and a 3 cone under 6.75. Even if you add some time factoring in a favorable timings, those are great numbers. Fast and explosive, it doesn't hurt that he came in at a clean 6-7.

He's pretty raw, tends to body catch and he's got an injury history. He's also a little older (24 in Oct). But considering the cost, he's a great gamble. I'm excited to see what happens with him and Michael Bamiro in camp. I loved Bamiro as a guy who could really rise up draft boards and was thrilled to see we brought him in. I think the Eagles like him too since they guaranteed a portion of his salary.

I can't remember the last time I was this excited for camp to start,

Thanks for responding. I think Bamiro is a 1-2 year project. I think he's athletic enough, but the NFL speed might overwhelm him at first. He reminds me of a very raw Tra Thomas. Thomas was NFL ready coming into the league. It will be interesting to see if Bamiro takes that next jump.

Momah. I think he can be better than Plaxico Burress. Plaxico had a bigger frame but not the athleticism.

Looking forward to seeing Wolff, Ertz, Johnson, Momah and Bamiro. Sheppard too.

Logan, Poyer and Barkley.... I don't know... but I hope they come through.

As long as he doesn't remind you of a raw King Dunglap.

                        ..

Thomas is a good comparison for Bamiro. MB just wasn't lucky enough to have the great coaching, development... that Thomas did in college. I'm pretty excited to see what happens with him.

I don't know that I like Momah quite as much as you, but he's certainly got upside too. It doesn't hurt than Carmichael is here to help teach him.

I'm with you on Ertz (who I think turns into a star here), Johnson, Momah, Bamiro and Shepard (who I've known since he was in HS. Don't forget he was a top QB prospect, there's trick play potential there).

I thought Wolff was the best of the third tier of safeties, but I think we messed up a little waiting as long as we did to address the position. There were game-changer types and I'm not sure if he can ever be that.

If Poyer is a tenth of a second faster he goes on Day 2. Like him or not, Barkley was a steal in R4 and seems like a good fit for what Chipper wants in a QB.

Actually if he doesn't develop much further, he'll be more like a King Dunlap. Bamiro gets out in space better than Dunlap so that's means a little more optimism.

If you look at Bamiro as a rookie vs Dunlap as a rookie, Bamiro is clearly the better prospect. He's got more upside and honestly I think being as tall as he is really hurts Dunlap. OLine vs DLine is a game of leverage and getting leverage, especially in the run game vs a guy 7-9 inches shorter than you is difficult.
