sorry for the stand-alone post. But that's just what I doto me there's no way you can keep this guy in the league much less the roster. Perhaps lurie is afraid of a union problembut I don't see what do you gain by keeping this a****** on the roster

Level of Agreement off the board. Hadnt thought about kicking him out of the league but he wouldn't be on my team.

Agreed, other players might be racist but not many are stupid enough to do what Kooper did. As a franchise this guy represents them, he's got to go.

What else could he have done? Threatened to fight all the niggers on the eagles?

Cooper has to go after this. Luckily he's a fringe player so Kelly could quietly make him go away before the Opening Game and make it appear like a normal cut.

If the black players on the team had wanted Cooper gone he'd be gone. In the absence of vengeance on their part Lurie acted reasonably. Unless you believe there should be a zero tolerance policy, which it sounds like you do, else you are equivocating like Maniac.

I'm guessing the black players have heard that word used so many times by so many different people (white or otherwise) and in so many different contexts that they judged it wasn't worth burning the guy this time.

So where is the line? What if he was wearing a swastika t-shirt? Im not advocating "no tolerance" but i find offering to "fight all the niggers" pretty damn provocative.

Maybe they should make Cooper drink a dong shot.

                    Cracker Cooper.

If the black players on the team had wanted him gone, he'd be gone. In this instance, they drew the line. It seems to me that the black members on the board who have chimed in are OK with Cooper staying. I'll give weight to their judgment.

Had Lurie cut Cooper that would have been his prerogative.

However they feel about Cooper, I'll bet the black players got more than a bit of satisfaction out of having the guy grovel for his job at their feet.

I feel a lot better looking at things this way than a Some White Players Are More Equal Than Others philosophy.

                        Me?

I'm wondering where were all the principled and outraged defenders of integrity were when Delmon Young spewed his anti-Semitic venom last year.

Why wasn't there the same outrage when the Phillies signed him?

I bet they'll get a lot more satisfaction if Cooper gets cut.

500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.
