  • Cooper just seems like a d-bag. This team just oozes bad karma.

It's been happening for ever, for ever, and forever... or at least since 1960.

There is just some bad mojo surrounding the Eagles.

How else do you explain losing your presumptive #1 WR to injury followed in short succession by the revaluation that a reserve guy who could attempt to step in likes to get in fights at Kenny Chesney concerts and likes to throw the N word around?

Don't get me started on the "wisdom" of having Kenny Chesney concerts at the Linc.

Edit-- perhaps some of this will change with the new coach. Reid (ff) certainly brought bad karma. But it seems to me that this bad karma thing with the Eagles has been going on a very long time now.

Yakkity Sax time already. Somebody hit the music.
500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.

It's not bad karma. It's one of Reid's guys. Something happened to Reid somewhere around year five. The year they traded for TO. He lowered character as a prerequisite for player interest. As a result, he started building a team that included a lot of unlikable players.

He left with one of the most unlikable team of athletes Philly has ever seen. And they turned out to be quitters... Which is what one expects from people with dubious character.

Riley Cooper is just one of mostly unlikable athletes in the eagles locker room. Really man, I can't stand many of them. There are no more Westbrooks and Dawkins and trotters. Instead we get baby momma twitter fights, support for assault weapons, bad hip hop hobbyists, and now public displays of cracker hood.

My hope for the future is that Chip Kelly changes this culture back to something Philadeplians can embrace. Reid's guys aren't it.

Maybe Chip could start by getting rid of Cooper.

I left out pissing on public buildings (Mathis) street drag racing (Peters), and tossing a girl out of a party bus (McCoy). This is the behavior of spoiled kids, not men of good character.

I'd rather see a future eagles team with none of these guys on it. You can find talented players without this bullshit attached.

Oh please. You want a team of "men of good character"?

These are young guys that play a kid's game for a living and make ridiculous amounts of money for doing so. And they grew up being idolized and pampered for having special talent for said kid's game. Not exactly an environment for developing "good character".

thats ridiculous. The Ravens had an accessory to murder on their team and lost their "Super Bowl" winning TE go down with a season ending injury the same day as Maclin. Hows their karma? They dont know because they are too busy shining their rings.

I don't disagree. But I also think this goes beyond Reid (FF). The Eaglees have been f*cked since forever or at least 1960.

Mathis didn't actually piss on anything. I like how you pick out one of the better character guys on the team to bitch about. Good luck building a team of boyscouts and actually winning any games. Every team has some talented shitheads - the good ones just surround them with quality guys to mask the shittiness.

They need mature team-first guys like the Patriots.
