  • this was the best way to handle it

Hey the damage was done. that leaves damage control.

This is the best thing to rehab Cooper, keep team divisiveness at a minimum and at least appear to be taking the high road.

Doubt Cooper (and this is JMO) really decided on this route on his own. But couching it that way takes all the heat off the Eagles to cut him, removes the distraction at a critical stage of installing all of Kelly's new systems.

It also paints ownership as compassionate and Cooper as wanting to change his ways.

Honestly, this is also probably the best thing for Cooper as a person, whether it was his idea or not.

One other good thing is it is stirring dialog on the use of the word.

Oh and on a personal note...to the guy who pointed out that I called out Cooper as a pussy but would never say so to his face...you have a good point! Im not the "keyboard warrior" type normally. This is a topic that stirs the emotions and it certainly affected me, along with many other Eagles fans.

OK peace out, great day for surfin...ocean temps have been in the 70s all week.

    One more benefit

It also shows other players (especially those who don't think this is a big deal) that the Birds won't just throw a player out in the trash for being a knucklehead.

With that said, I still think Cooper's future will be determined by whether one of the other tall WR prospects can step up in camp and the preseason.

I think your last line is the telling point, if someone steps up riley is gone, if these backups suck you know he will be starting in foreskinville.

Well, you know what Riley would say.

I'll kick the ass of every mick in here.
