Vick = Old McNabb. Physical gifts are diminishing.
Foles = Kolb. Pocket passer who looked average to good in a small sample size but doesn't have a cannon arm or great athleticism.
Barkley = Jailed Vick. This is the least comparable situation. I guess you could say they both had seasons of success (Vick in Atl, Barkley first 3 years at USC) but are at a place where they need to prove they can get back to where they were.

Agree, except on the Foles part, I think he has a much better arm than Kolb, and he is dead nuts accurate, as far as athleticism, I just think he doesn't "look" the part because of his height.

Let's face it, nobody would call Napoleon Dynamite, athletic?

I think Vick is just like McNabb was in his last few years in Philly. Not as athletic, not as capable of making up for poor decisions, and not viewed by all his teammates as the best man for the starting QB job. If I were comparing the two at this stage in their careers I'd give the edge to McNabb because he never leaned on his legs as much as Vick has.

I'm not ready to give up on Foles. I think he showed enough last year that he should be given a real chance to win the starters job. Who cares if he can't do a lot with his legs? Give him the talent and the time to get it done from the pocket. I like him more than Kolb just because he seems to be more durable.

Barkley....I don't know about yet. If the other 2 guys falter early I'd say get Barkley in and see what he's got this year. I think he's got a chance to be an NFL QB if they don't rush him.
.....and you thought I was ugly on the outside.

Foles was offered basketball scholarships to some pretty major schools. He's a better athlete than you think.

He's a tougher kid than many think also, some of the shots he took in games and didn't miss a play impressed me.

Chip and crew far better - both coach, players and more importantly the system that runs down hill with the ball. Running the ball better than 60 percent of the time.

It will also be great for our defense.

He's in the NFL, he's an athlete. My point is more that he's not going to run away from any DEs. Again, in his small sample size, he did seem to have pretty good pocket awareness which is what makes non freak athlete QBs successful.
