But would Chip have got that ND team an undefeated season? I doubt it.

not last year but the year before stanford beat a pretty good usc team. in fact, matt barkley always played like sh!t against that stanford team because they play pro-style defense.

i watched stanford play a bunch...their d was fantastic...huge and they hit like trucks.

also, chips offense was filled but the defense was okay. he never had a top 10 recruiting class while at oregon...not saying he was getting bums...but he was getting more out of what he had.
