For all the talking general manager Ruben Amaro did during Friday's dismissal press conference — not to mention the crying — about how tough the firing was and how much Manuel meant to the organization, the Phillies sure didn't figure out a smooth way to honor their longtime manager for becoming the 59th to join the 1,000-win club and fire him in the same day.
