I thought Foles played better than Vick last year. Vick has looked great in this offense though. The problem is that Vick's problems are turnovers and bad decisions which aren't particular to any one offense.

      I don't think he's married to Barkley ... I think he's looking to win.

Barkley was a bargain in the 4th round.

And if Vick goes next year because they want to get younger and Foles stays, I don't think Barkley will play unless he's clearly better than Foles.

PS - I think Vick was more explosive, but I already posted that a more methodical qb might be better for keeping the defense off the field.

vick actually had shady, had desean and the offensive line was still somewhat together.

vick sucks...he's a 33 year old fraud of a qb. would rather go with a young guy that may turn out to be something than go with a 33 fraud who was decent for 10 games under reid till teams figured him out...then he was back to being a brutal turnover machine again.

mistakes from a 22-23 year old are less worse than the same mistakes from a 32-33 year old.

Michael Vick's job is to play qb and do it well. Nick Foles' job is to play qb and do it well. Neither one did that last season. If either of them had played well, Chip Kelly wouldn't be just now naming his starter. You want to try to use circumstance X,Y, and Z to excuse Foles' bad play, but the bottm line is that he was bad. He didn't do one thing last year that screamed "I'm the unquestioned starter next year" Not one. Neither did Vick. THAT'S why there was a competiton. Vick has been the better qb this year. Not by leaps and bounds, but he's been better. The better qb won, and now it's his job to lose. We'll find out come week one

MY HUMBLE OPINION, VICK HAS HIS BEST YEAR AS A STARTER.

I agree. I think his expectation is that Barkley will be the guy, but, as you said, he wants to win. I have no doubt he'll play whoever he thinks gives him the best chance. He's not married to anyone right now.

Let's see...Vick murdered a shit ton of dogs and would still be doing it if he didn't get caught. I have served honorably in the military for almost 19 years. Compared to Vick, I have wings...so my reply to you would be yes sir.

Well - we all knew this was coming after watching an entertaining pre-season. Vick is better than Foles and gives us the best chance to win now. There is no more rebuilding in the NFL. Even teams rebuilding think they can win.

Robert Bales and countless other US soldiers have shown us that. Michael Vick did a horrible thing, there's no denying that, but he's paid his debt to society (except in the eyes of people like yourself). By all accounts he's trying to make amends for what he did, but the fact that you want him to pay for it for the rest of his life says a lot more about you than it does about him.

Ahhh, it's alright...he won't be the face of the franchise forever...he's almost 34 already. Iggs will return to respectability before long, when he's gone. I'll be standing by...

I Thought it was up to the head coach to name the startwr,

Vick may have been named the starter, but he doesn'i name the starter!

Foles had the sixth highest completion percentage of a rookie and the second best int to attempts percentage. He didn't suck especially considering the dreck of what he was playing with at the time. Wish he would've won the job but he was clearly outplayed, and I'm excited to see what happens. It's nice to know there is someone to take Vick's place if he decides to start playing like bad Vick again. Barkley hasn't shown dick yet, but two games in as a rookie taking third team reps is hardly enough to judge. My expectations are low this year and if Vick ends up being the guy, I just hope he learns how to slide between now and the regular season.
