Whoever WAS in charge of drafting really screwed up on the defensive side of the ball. I mean, look at these picks since 2003. These are the only guys to start even semi-regularly in the NFL.

2003: Horrible. All misses.
2004: Horrible. Matt Ware was the only guy to play regularly in the NFL after leaving the Eagles
2005: Mike Patterson, Trent Cole (great late-round pick)
2006: Brodrick Bunkley, Chris Gocong, Omar Gaither
2007: Stewart Bradley
2008: Horrible. No starters.
2009: Horrible. No starters.
2010: Brandon Graham, Nate Allen, Keenan Clayton, Jamar Chaney, Kurt Coleman (The last 4 have only started with the Eagles, which isn't saying much)
2011: Putrid. None of the guys drafted are even on the team anymore.

They are all gone except for Howie. Certainly Howie had the least influence over that stretch.

Getting Lane Johnson in his lap with the 4th pick... hell i could do that. let's see how everything else turns out.

I have my reservations about some picks.

.. and while we are at it, Ertz dropped some balls this pre season and nobody cares to mention it. I saw a stat and the biggest thing that separated Eifert (first TE picked) and Ertz is the drops!

It's worth keeping an eye on.

The Eagles never had a real scouting system:

For years they relied on BLESTO, and BLESTO V, a low budget scouting system shared by 5 other teams. For the last few years anyone could get better scouting report free on the internet!

There was no real Eagles Scouting system dedicated to the Eagles.
