Speaking of Austria, my mother, who has never visited Europe, and my father, who has not been to Europe since he was in the Army, are on a 16 day trip of several countries as a 55th anniversary trip. They've been to Germany, Warsaw, where my mom's parents were from, and Krakow today. Tomorrow they go to Budapest. Will they enjoy Budapest?

They will love Budapest.

It's beautiful except for the Soviet built POS architecture. The view from Gellért Hill is gorgeous. Are they on their own or are they on a tour?

On a tour. They are going tom Prague and Vienna after Budapest. My daughters just got back from a two week tour of Italy with their mom.

I know what you mean. Because Warsaw was razed in WWII, much of what's there is that Soviet era ugly block construction. Krakow was largely left alone in WWII and maintains most of its ancient architecture.
