The way the refs call those it was definitely a late hit. I do not think it should be a late hit but they consistently call that a late hit for most other QBs

There was another play in which the DE came over and hit him in the helmet with his arm. Deirdorf said it had to be a "forceful hit"--guarantee if that hit had been on either Manning, or RG3, or Aaron Rodgers, it would have been roughing the passer. I felt that although the Eagles defense wa atrocious, they didn't get a consistent game called by the refs either--in the first half, when Vincent Brown caught a ball on the sideline, it appeared his left foot was on the chalk, and he didn't complete the catch until he was out of bounds but they called it a catch; the fumble by Flyod--he caught it, took two steps and the ball was dislodged, picked up by an Eagle. But they said it was just an incomplete pass.
