  • Remember how Howie brayed and hawed over his great 2012 draft

How wonderful Cox and Kendricks and Curry would be? How Cox was a monster and Kendricks was an athletic playmaker and Curry was a big time pass rusher?

Well, it's been 20 games and as near as I can tell: Cox gets the odd sack and beats his chest while getting road-graded the rest of the game; I'm still waiting for Kendricks the Playmaker to Make a Play; and Curry can't see the damned field. And these guys weren't doing it in the 4-3 last year any better than they are doing it in the 3-4 this year.

I am sick of buying bills of goods on defense (that goes for free agents too). Sick sick sick sick sick. Howie the Barrister is no better than the Haberdasher.

I watched Alabama/Ole Miss game Saturday night

And I am telling you both those colleges have more physical Defensive players than any player on the Eagles roster.

This is not Howie's fault Lurie already said so. Howie is the "NewBanner". second year players with third defense coordinator struggle. to much thinking not enough playing.

      Mockery of course...

I just don't understand. The stinking Jets have a rookie and a second year guy playing defensive line, and Cox isn't even in the same area code as them talent and impact wise. Kendricks is just the final example of FF not being able to evaluate LBs. He's got Ernie Sims written all over him, a LB who's perfected the Mark Simoneau Nine Yards Downfield tackle.

I'm not even hopeful that Tom Gamble can help in anyway. The Eagles have the King Midas touch only nothing turns to gold, it all turns to shit.

In the 2012 second round alone, after Kendricks was drafted, linebackers Bobby Wagner, Zach Brown, and Lavonte David were drafted. Kendricks is miles behind all three of them.

I mean, I know it's not from 2012 but they still traded up and got brandon graham. Thats winning. I read that he's really good at football.

We'll all be dead long before this city sees a Super Bowl Champion.

                    I'm 100% sure of it.

The Graham pick is just as worst than passing up Earl Thomas

[Lurie said] “I came to the conclusion that the person that was providing by far the best talent evaluation in the building was Howie Roseman. I decided to streamline the whole decision-making process for the 2012 draft and offseason and that’s the first draft and offseason I hold Howie completely accountable for. The mistakes that were made in the 2011 draft have little or nothing to do with Howie’s evaluations and I think it was important for me to own up to the mistakes that were made and understand where they were coming from, and it was awfully clear.”

                        http://www.csnphilly.com/eagles/rose...ome-3-4-pieces

The Eagles’ most critical building block on the defensive line is Fletcher Cox, who was an all-rookie pick last year after the Eagles took him in the first round out of Mississippi State.

Roseman said the 6-foot-4, 300-pound Cox, a defensive tackle as a rookie, can play and be effective at any position in any defense.

“Fletcher is a unique player because he’s got incredible versatility,” Roseman said. “He can really play in any scheme. He can play in a 4-3, he can play in a 3-4, and he can do any spot in those alignments. In a 4-3, he can be an end, [in a 3-4] he can be a 3 technique (B-gap pass rusher outside the guard), he can be a nose tackle, he can be a 5 technique (3-4 end lining up outside the tackle), he can be a 4 technique (3-4 end lining up across from a tackle).

“He has an incredible skill set, and he does all those things really well. You’re looking for a big jump from him year one to year two. Young guy, [22] years old - we’re excited about Fletcher Cox and what he can bring to our football team.”

Finally coming around. Kendricks is Mark Simoneau, and Fletcher Cox couldn't sniff Corey Simon's jock at the same point in their careers. Also Trent Cole is a geezer, gun-toting asshole who is already a year past his expiration date.

Sadly, Curry and Graham can actually generate pressure if they were on a 4-3 D line.

The head coach will get a pass from me this season, but if he gets bamboozled into believing hype about these players then he's destined to fail. And that especially means Vick, too. All most of us see is wasted talent who can't wrap his head around how to play QB in the NFL. Never has, and apparently never will.

Long dead homie. I really believed the team is cursed.
500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.
