I agree....vick should be the starter. You don't lose the job to injury unless you pay for Reid.

I just don't like Vick.... but he shouldn't lose his job to an injury

He's made it through a full season once in his career. He's missed thirteen games in the last three years.

And these aren't fluke injuries. They're a direct consequence of how he plays the game, both running the football and holding onto it for too long and taking unnecessary hits.

He doesn't have the physical makeup to play the game the only way he knows how and not get hurt. Especially at this age.

I don't see it as losing a job to injury. I see as a final confirmation that he's physically unable to do the job.

Doesn't matter what you see. It matters a lot what the players would see.

You ever work in a job where some joker gets a promotion over the person who deserved it? Did it go over well?

NFL coaches need total buy-in from their players. Kelly has that right now. If you bench Vick after Foles played alright for a half and a series, there'll be grumbling that Kelly doesn't need while he tries to rebuild this team.

Nobody wants to think a pulled hammy might land them on the bench the rest of the season.

If Vick gets hurt and goes down for 3 games and Foles lights it up, that's a different story. The locker room wouldn't have a big problem with it. That happens all the time (Brady, Kaepernick, a shit load of others). But not for this.

Agreed. Tell Mike to take a week off.

If Foles can go on a run vs TB, Dallas, NY, and Oakland, WHICH HE SHOULD, the job is his for the year.

I have no problem with it. I still feel like long term he's not the answer and...but if he turns out to be the man, GREAT...I'm a fan of The Philadelphia Eagles, not specific players.

Like I told you clowns before, Vick is 33 years old and could never read the defense to save his life. Why start a rebuilding team with an old QB?? Let's just assume Vick do really well this season, how many years left do we have with Vick?

It's time to cut the cord and let the young kids play. It's time to see what we currently have as QB of the future. If not, then at least we know and be prepare to draft a QB of the future next year.

We may have a chance at the playoff this year in a sucky division, but seriously, why care? We have no freaking chance to win the Super Bowl with this team anyway.

That's how I feel. Again....I don't really hate Vick..... but have watched him for ten years? Amazingly talented.... just hasn't been consistent. At 33/34... just don't think it's ever going to happen. Can't lose his job to injury... players love him and it would be a bad signsl.

This isn't Vick losing out on a promotion he deserves. This is Vick getting hurt, again, playing "his" game... a game he can't play without getting hurt.

If Chip is going to lose the locker room because he decides to move on from a 33 year old, injury prone QB in a rebuilding season, he never had the locker room to begin with.

This is like Jerry Kill suffering his fifth game day seizure. Nobody wants to say it aloud, but everybody knows it's only a matter of time.

While I don't think someone else will be wondering if their own pulled hammy leads to being on the bench, I tend to think that's why Vick looked so despondent following the injury.

A BIG what-if, but if Foles plays for a couple of weeks and McCoy's contributions are reduced, I can see a locker room losing that necessary buy-in. They all saw (just like we did) what McCoy was doing running the ball, and whether it is because of Vick or not, changing the offensive identity mid-stream may raise a bunch of questions in the locker room.

                              Wrong. Totally wrong.

The guy has made this offense incredibly productive. Foles beat a defense that was beaten once Eli started throwing picks.

Is Vick gonna get hurt again? Probably. And when that happens, start Foles. But if Vick can play he's still the starter. One half and one drive of FUNCTIONAL NFL quarterbacking doesn't make Foles the starter.
