goodell is a bigger gangster than David Stern. NFL should be at 0.00% and kick their portion to ACS.

Unfortunately many cancer charities and foundations are the same. Only 10% of money raised by the Canadian Cancer Society goes to research and I am sure that the American Cancer Society is the same. The lions share of the money pays executives and administrative costs. Found this out after my mother was diagnosed.

        The league is a farce

The NFL does the pink thing to attract the female audience and to pat themselves on the back for "doing good"

The only thing the NFL cares about is mo' money

          Did you know?

Komen - Breast cancer Non Profit (fucking joke) only spends 20% of its donations on Breast Cancer research and that the CEO is the highest compensated (700K) Non Profit (fucking joke) CEO in the Country

            Well that's misleading

The NFL is giving 90% of their "take" to the American Cancer Society. Even if they gave 100% the amount that went to actual research would only be ~ 10%

I know it is in the tax code with how these "Non Profits" can form, but I just don't understand how they still function when people openly know the money doesn't go to research

It is a trained response I guess, individuals are told they will receive a tax deduction if they donate to "charities" so they do and these "Non Profits" just profit.

There's more to charitable work than just research

American Cancer Society spends alot of money on awareness, prevention and helping those suffering from the disease.

There is more then research. But some of these groups (Susan G Komen) are litteraly ripping people off. If you go to guidestar.org you can look up tax records for most non profits and see what they brought in vs what the gave to research, people in need, and other legit things vs what the executives made in many case what the homes for the executive cost cars for the executives etc.

Yes for a large non profit there needs to be executives and they should be well compensated if they do a good job but they should also do what people are donating money for and many do the bare minimum in that regard

Let us not forget, that this is the same league that is trying to take all defense out of the game in the interest of "player safety", yet they are still hopeful that the players union will agree to an 18 game season.

I don't necessarily think that an 18 game schedule would be a terrible thing, but they would HAVE to increase the roster spaces available.

Bingo...Case in point they fined Brandon Marshall for wearing Green to support mental health awareness. Way easier to sell pink jerseys and hats to chicks than Green jerseys and hats to a bunch of nuts(oh wait they already do, Eagle fans).

I drew the line at the pink penalty flags. That's going too far.

That being said, NFL's gonna NFL.
