  • Ref's question is a fair one.

He doesn't point fingers, just asks a question, and sounds more like a frustrated fan asking how other people can continually support a failing product??

His point is valid and begs the question.

If you stop for a few minutes, reread the post while removing yourself from the mob mentality, you might ask yourself the same thing.

Who knows it might invoke a different response than attacking because something pokes your ego.

it didn't bother me in the slightest

Nor do I think I attacked him. Did not read all the responses in that thread to be honest.

I just think it would not have been a question if LA had a team.

Hell I plan on going to a Sixers game or two and they will be lucky to win a dozen games. Im sure to some people I am throwing money away, but I just like basketball.

Oh well, to each his own, I say. I dont get NASCAR at all, but to those who enjoy it I say great.

Fair? Maybe. But knowing that he has no skin in the game (nor will he ever) makes it not much more than trolling.

Given the Ref's bourgeois mentality, it hardly surprises me that posters would respond to a otherwise measured question as though it were an insult. He can't cry wolf after looking down his nose at the rabble for all these years. That's the problem.

I fart in his general direction ... RSE is right on the money.

He's been sneering at season ticket holders since forever.

And I already posted the solution last year "Not one fucking crab fry!!!"

PS - IE and I, as the original Boycott the Parking Lot brain trust, have another idea as well.

              Bingo; reap as ye sow

The money spent on a tailgayte is spent not to further the cause of the NFL, its to further the brotherhood of this board and this fan base.
Given all the awesome times these gents have had (and will continue to have), its a pittance to spend for a lifetime of memories and friendships.

That's what the tailgaytes are all about- and bastardizing that and looking down your nose at that is a POS commentary imo. Its not like he is unaware of how much time, effort and passion these guys put into it

Certainly he can question anything he likes.... and the board is more than justified in giving him shit for his idiotic stance on the subject

Its not a fair question; its a loaded lame-ass poke from a lame- ass pretender who wouldn't lift one finger to support a sports team, good bad or otherwise. And then he comes here and crows about his enlightened apathy

                Thanks for the succinct response

..the source of the question is no doubt controversial, the posts' tone did not offend me, but the validity of it still stands. I noticed few responders actually responded to the question but were more focused on it's source.

It's one I've asked myself over the years coming from a 3rd generation of followers.

Does that make me less than a fan for asking, am I a pretender?

I know my enthusiasm for pro football has lessened but Ï'm curios about what motivates others when there are obvious alternate routes?

Nobody answered the question because the answer is obvious.

We like pro football in general and the Eagles in particular, and we can't attend all the home games if we give up our tickets.

Shit Eagles teams are part of the cost for the chance at good ones.

But we don't have to buy one fucking crab fry.

Now if you want to get into how the NFL in general is becoming a shittier product with the anti-defense rules ... that's a more interesting discussion.

I've been to 6 games at the Linc and 3 in San Diego to watch the birds. Last one in 2009. Just haven't stopped by the picnic.

The picnic thing makes dudes that met each other on the internet getting together sound a little gayer than it actually is.

LOL. Couldn't he at least refer to it as a bbq and some beers before the game.

I know you're a higher life form than us and all, but next time you're around couldn't you at least channel your inner "Jane Goodall" and hang out with the lesser primates for a few minutes before the game. No one will throw their poo at you.
