I can just see Hinkie coming into the locker room post game yelling at the team for giving too much effort bwahahaha.

There are plenty of bad teams out there and they are now on their way to blowing a great opportunity. It's 'Suck for Luck' all over again.

This team went from the 7-6 seeders to 7-6 pickers. The Celtics are going to break our hearts once again.

It's been three games at the start of the season. The big dogs haven't hit their stride yet (MCW said it seemed like LeBron coasted in their game, Wade didn't play, Rose is working his way back) and some of the Sixers players are playing well above their heads.

Hawes isn't going to average 19 PPG all season. Turner's shooting 50% and averaging 23 PPG, his career bests are 44% and 13 PPG. Turner, Hawes and Thad all hold trade value and Hinkie will make any move he thinks makes them a contender in the long run.

I'm not worried...yet. Given that this is Philadelphia, I can definitely see the chicken making an appearance and this team making the playoffs, but for right now, I'm sticking with they're not good enough.

1-5 is locked down in the East. Cleveland, Atlanta and Washington are all significantly more talented than the Sixers. Milwaukee and Detroit have more talent. There's some bad teams, but the Sixers should be one of the baddest.

I hate to say it but I think they're better than Orlando, Charlotte, Detroit, Boston, and Phoenix at the very least. I know it's early but a couple of key injuries here or there from a couple of other teams and this team will be too far down the board.

This team can't even tank correctly. They first step is moving Turner as quickly as possible. Send him to one of those shitty teams ASAP. I don't care what they get back for him. The next step is ask Ed Snider for advice on how to get the least out of your team. That should help.

They're better than Phoenix and a Rondo-less Boston. Brandon Jennings and Josh Smith alone makes Detroit better. If Vucevic keeps developing and Oladipo is the player he's expected to be, plus players like Harkless, Affalo, Nicholson and Big Baby with a veteran leader like Jameer, Orlando should be better. Charlotte has a ton of bigs with talent, but they need Kemba and Kidd-Gilchrist to take the next step.

None of these teams are "good" I just think they have more pieces than the Sixers on paper. Games aren't played there, I know.

Hinkie has to move Turner and then one of the other two. Tanking is tough because some guys have no idea where they'll be playing next season or they're in a contract year so you can't tell them to hurt their financial futures by playing like shit because you want some kid in college. I think Hinkie and Brown will figure it out though.

The key to a good tanking season is getting out of the gates slowly. An immediate lack of success with low expectations can reconfirm the lack of confidence they need. Now, this team knows they can hang with anyone. They are the toast of the town. Sure, it's the 'City of Brotherly Scrubs' (C) but they are still making the front page. That's not good.

I agree it's early but I have no reason to believe this team is close to the 'Worst of the Worst' in a watered down league. They should have brought back Eddie Jordan.

Brown made a comment after last night about the way they are scoring, it was something along the lines "i didn't think they had it in them". Pretty sad.

Are you guys really discussing NBA basketball on the first weekend of November? I don't know much about the NBA, but even I know the first two months of the NBA season are as meaningless as NFL preseason games.

                    Then why say anything?

Those meaningless games they are winning do mean something when it comes time for drawing the ping pong balls. That is where the topic is in this thread. Everyone here is kind of laughing that they have won the first three games with the irony being that it's almost a completely unified idea that the sixers need to lose. It's not like the Eagles are adding anything that anyone wants to discuss.

Phoenix is 2-0 right now too. Unless MCW is the clear ROY & Young, Turner, and Hawes continue to play way better than they've consistently played in the past, I don't think we have to worry about the Sixers making the playoffs and/or ruining their lottery chances. They'd also have to have complete no-names step up and be very good NBA role players. Stranger things have happened, but I'm not close to panicking that they won't be terrible.

It's fun to see the kid play really well the first few games. Probably means nothing over the whole 82 game season.

I think Turner surprises a little. He's said he's focusing more on going strong to the basket rather than pulling up. He's got the ability to be a scorer and is good with the ball in his hands but just doesn't have great range. If they can keep him from jacking up bad shots, he's got some ability and brings rebounding to the table.

Don't get me wrong, they're definitely playing above their heads and this won't last. But I feel like we might be pleasantly surprised with Turner.

I withdraw my statement in regards to Cleveland. I assumed some of their young guys would progress and I was way off. That team stinks.

Knees hurt so much that he's still considering retiring. He wasn't sure if he'd play tonight. He did, and was booed mercilessly.
