      On a related point ... the NFL better fucking get religion on the contact rule.

      Aside from that bullshit call in the Frisco/N.O. game where they put two skirts on Brees .. they need to allow contact down the field until the ball is thrown.

      Teams cannot play defense anymore and it's becoming arena league ball where they're more interested in whether fans have access to wifi than game play.

      The contact rule need to be changed.

      You grab a guy?

      Fine ... flag.

      Contact with ball in the air ... flag.

      But hand checking and whatnot beyond 5 yards has to be allowed ... to many fucking situations when the receiver initiates the contact and the db gets the flag ... but then you get that bullshit last night which was, as you said, clearly a contact violation under the new rule and not called.

        There is contact on almost every play past five yards. There must be rhyme and reason, and some sort of tacit understanding between the players and the refs, about when it is called, but sure as hell the fans don't know.
