  • Vick on Foles being the starter

Very impressive. He's come a long way in his maturity and it's good to see him put the team over himself.

Agreed. It surprised me when he came out and said this. Kudos to him for saying the right thing.

So now the question going forward, does this mean that as long as Foles does well and stays healthy that Vick is willing to settle into a backup position long term (as in he sees his career winding down and would rather stay here with the team and guys he's know's than move on).

OR, do you think this is just till the EOY and he will want to be shopped around? He will be what? 34 next season?

        Two words: starter money.

The only teams that may be willing to give that to Vick

will probably be those teams that nuke their current QB situation, draft their potential QBOTF, and don't want the rookie to get scarred during an offensive rebuild:

          I can see:

          Jacksonville
          Oakland
          Cleveland

          Maybe also:

Tampa (although Cosell did a write-up on Glennon praising him)
          St. Louis

Even then, I don't think he gets anything big, especially not long-term.

But his approach to this whole faux controversy was smart.

Glennon has been real good for Tampa. I think they go with him as their QB next year.

A more tedious repeat of what I stated.

Exactly, Glennon is to TB what Foles is to the Eagles, two hopeful long term starters.

Yup. He's smarter than he gets credit for. As long as he stays a solid team player, he could pocket a few million somewhere next year. Not sure I see a starting spot for him. The trend now is to throw the rookie QBs right in.
