  • Chip Kelly Is a Good Coach

and despite the handful of nitwits that want him to fail or think he's using the Eagles to go back to college my bet is he is here for a long time to stay.

Needs to find a way to put teams away in the 4th qtr

Yet he's winning with this cesspool of talent. I'm going to cut Chip a break because I expected a 5 win season.

Like to see him get a bruising running back to compliment Shady late in games. Bryce Brown is just not cutting it.

Will the real Anthony please stand up?

Or has the Chipster actually inspired a little hope in one of the world's biggest pessimists?

All I know is that football is fun and important to me again, even the nail biting parts, and I am not even expecting them to blow it at the end anymore. Much is changing from the FF area....

On offensive side of the ball. But there's no arguing with the direction the team is headed. Exceeded my most optimistic expectations and I was all in on this guy in the offseason. Tremendous Get for the team.

I think a complimentary RB is actually a top-3 priority going into this offseason. If Shady ever went down, this offense would be in huge trouble. He's the most important player on the team, and the drop-off after him is pretty bad.

But, yeah, when Chip has had a full off-season to shape the roster, this team should be pretty solid. Considering talent and circumstances, this is a 7-win team MAX, and anything above that is a testament to the whole coaching staff.

Wolff, Logan, Johnson and Ertz are looking pretty good. I'm actually looking forward to seeing where we are this time next season with next year's draft class.

Hell, they're even getting decent play out of Graham and Allen. Seems like a good coaching staff.

I think Allen's the poster-boy for the impact a solid coaching staff can have. Dude looked good his rookie year and has looked progressively worse every year since.

Reid kept filling out his coaching staff with 'Reid guys' instead of proven veteran coaches. I have nothing against Mike Zordich and Mike Caldwell, but are they really gonna get more out of players than guys who have been doing it for more than a year or so?

The current defensive backs coach, John Lovett, has 35 years of experience. Considering the mediocre talent we have at DB, I'd say the results speak for themselves.

I Have Determined This Is NOT The Real Anthony

It is obviously a pod person from outer space who has the real, pessimistic, criticizing, complaining Anthony locked away in a room somewhere.

I mean, come on, the last time Anthony didn't complain about the Eagles or anything associated with them was two days in November, six weeks before the turn of the century!

The last time he said anything even remotely optimistic was 1998. You could look it up.

Already has more wins than I expected all season. And doing it with a roster that is short of top shelf talent. What's not to like?

I was on the fence but have been won over. Really want to believe Foles is the long term answer but still unsure about him.

They're preparing nooses for anyone who questions this QB right now.

At some point the good fortune runs out and then we will see what we have. He made about three really impressive passes yesterday, had three passes that should have been picks and then the rest of the day was up and down.

The bottom line is while Foles has been good this season (I'm not denying that) the amount of lucky plays he has enjoyed is something I've never seen before. Part of it is clearly Chip Kelly's coaching of the receivers positioning on deep balls to break up INTs but another part of it is completely non-quantifiable.

You're being disingenuous. Foles has made some outstanding plays, great throws, great reads, great timing. Not seeing a whole lotta luck out there.

I want a big, pocket passer to succeed in this town. We've seen three of the all time best running QB's. Tired of it. I don't know if Foles is the guy yet, but I sure do want him to be. Likable guy, too. Extremely impressed that he didn't keep one souvenir ball from his 7 TD game. McNabb would have kept all of them.
