They're young and getting better, but there's no need to start talking about "deepest since" or anything like that.

If they give up 300 yards a game on the ground and get zero sacks the rest of the year, what will you say then? Let this team play out and see what happens.

Exactly, they are getting better as a group, but the best thing to look forward to right now is that at the start of the season we all though they would have 40 holes to fill, the list of holes IS getting smaller, that is a good thing.

you have to convince me the Eagles are that solid that its worth trumpeting about.

This front 7 or is it 4?? hasn't played that long together better yet in a 3-4 and we play in the NFC Least....not exactly stunning opposition.

I'm not getting excited abut being the tallest midget.

        "We" haven't done dick.

The Eagles lead the NFL in sacks at least once during FF's time. This bunch won't come close to that.

Negative babies. Who on the d line would you replace right now? That's what I thought.

So instead of just saying that you like the DL, you go and compare them to Reggie and company? You really didn't think you'd get shit all over for leaking that tardiness out on this bored?

Well. I couldn't think of a time we were this stacked. Since soap left the eagles dline has been the strength of the team. In the past it was secondary. Dawk lito Sheldon Lewis. I don't even count that wide nine crap. And kearse was blah.

Ill check back with you all in a few games.

I'm not one to pile on a n00b

but damn, son. Even though I am currently flying at 32,000 feet I can see that you are going to need to get a grip. Others have covered the obvious, I would just point out that you should also watch this group during the fourth quarter, not just the first series.

The biggest thing I noticed from the defense the past month is the improved play of the players up front. The Eagles rotate six down players in their 3-4 scheme and all are 25 or under. The two best are tackles Fletcher Cox and Cedric Thornton. Cox is an athletic freak who is coming off a dominant game against the Redskins. Thornton is an underrated player who can make big plays in the run game and get pressure on the quarterback. Rookie Bennie Logan, the nose tackle, also impressed against the Redskins.

It also helps that outside linebackers Trent Cole and Connor Barwin -- especially Barwin -- have played much better than they did early in the season.
Nick Foles' patient play in Chip Kelly's breakneck offense and an improving defense have the Eagles surging in the wide-open NFC East.

Instead, the more consistent unit by far has been the defense, which has now held eight consecutive opponents to 21 points or less.

The Eagles are the only NFL team to do so during that span
. The last time they held opponents to 21 points or less over eight straight games was 2003 when they actually had a nine-game streak in a season that ended with the excruciating 14-3 NFC title-game loss to Carolina.
