  • Chip Kelly has set the bar high.

Reid didn't take a backward step for 7 seasons - until 2005. I wouldn't expect the fans to accept less than 10 wins and a division title again next year. And a playoff win would be nice.

Shouldn't really be that hard to improve. There's still a lot of deadwood on the roster and Kelly has gained experience. An NFC Championship game appearance is a reasonable expectation.

I would think just getting the headset on straight would be a reasonable expectation for a High School Harry type.

To you telling us what a fraud he is if they DON'T make the NFC Championship Game ? I just want to make sure we're all on the same page.

If the Eagles dont make the playoffs next season, the heat will be on. If they make it and go one and done again, there will be grumbling. Anything better would be an improvement and acceptable.

You set the bar of Chip Kelly hate pretty high, so I just wanted to be sure. I do agree that they should improve next season. he seems to be the kind of coach that will learn from this season and actually implement changes to improve, as opposed to going into next season with the same old, same old.

I am making plans for the home playoff game already, 5-1 in the division he only needs to go 5-5 in the rest and the playoffs are here. Not that high a bar if you ask me.

Reid didn't win a playoff game until his third season. I'm willing to give Chip the same amount of time.

As long as Chip keeps adjusting and getting better at coaching in this league, I don't really care about his record next year, I want to see improvement and that doesn't always amount to more wins from one year to the next. This year's 10-6 was a soft 10-6, next year's schedule doesn't look to be as fluffy (obviously that can and probably will change) I want this organization to finally be able to audit itself, understand where it is weak and make corrections. No more passing on playmakers at positions of need in the draft. The last two drafts so far have been on the money and are responsible (along with chip) for turning this hunk of shit around. Two more rock solid drafts and they should be in line for a very good run. As of now, in my eyes, they are a little ahead of schedule but a slight step back isn't going to make me think chip is any less capable as a coach.

Agreed. Eagles could be a better team next year but end up at 9-7 or something like that due to the schedule, or injuries, or just the ball bouncing the wrong way.

I'm looking to an improved defense and special teams and fine-tuning the offense. If gains are made there in this offseason and next, 2015 could be a big year.

Incorrect. Reid won a playoff game in his second season. Kelly certainly isnt going to get fired for not achieving that but the natives will start to get restless.

He could probably lose in the first round for the next four years and keep his job. Three for sure.

Not sure if this is just you stirring the pot but I do agree. I'd say the Honeymoon phase is over and now every year that the Birds don't get it done will just create more doubt about Kelly and if he can ever get it done. I plan to be patient with this team for a few years, but I know if I see a coach go one and done in the playoffs a few years in a row to start his career I am going to be doubting his abilities to win the necessary 3-4 playoff games in a row that its gonna take to reach the ultimate goal.

                            I love the Maniac wisdom.
500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.
