Of course in NY in Feburary you can always have a cold driving rain instead. That could be fun too.

coming back huh?? Welcome back dude.

I smell debacle with this year's SB, get a couple of average, marginal market teams in there, mix it with some crap weather which would force the game to be played on another day and that game will float like a turd.

McMahon will be working hard to get the right teams in there to help boost ratings should the forecast appear menacing.

It's gonna be a monumental clusterfuck and quite honestly I hope that it is. I want the NFL and Goodell to look bad here as they should for putting the biggest one day sporting event in the world in a situation where the weather can be a major negative. This event should be a warm weather event. Forget mentioning the cash grab for transportation into the game and the banning of tailgating. This is going to be a major public relations screw up. I was in NYC over Christmas and I the feeling I got was that the people there didn't want the event as it was going to cause chaos in the city. In the busiest city in NA and one of the busiest in the world, I have to believe that holding the Superbowl here is a mistake.

        Completely disagree.

The problem with the Super Bowl is that it's more about corporate interests than the fans.

I hope those assholes who are on their smart phone more than they look at the game freeze their fucking asses off because they don't know how to dress properly.

Real football fans love a snow storm ... best time I had this year was in one.

A contingency plan is to have the game on Monday.

          Strange.

Yeah I hear you on the snow game in Philly, but it wasn't in Feb and the brutal cold that can come with it. I hope the non-football corporate idiots freeze as well, but they'll look good while doing it in their Versace and Gucci outfits and carrying Louis Vuitton bags.

Would you want to watch 16 games in a snow storm?

It's great that you and other fans enjoyed the snow storm game. And once in a while it's fun to watch. But if big games are consistently decided in shitty conditions, it's bad for football because it makes the game less attractive.

The people who really count for making the Super Bowl what it is are the people watching at home. That's where the vast majority of the fans, who shelling out the cash, are located.

I really think all the non-Super Bowl activities will be bigger issues. There's a whole economy tied to having an event like that. If the game date is changed, people won't have hotel rooms. If the weather is bad, a lot less money will be spent than you'd see in a warmer location.

Most importantly, the fake fans of the halftime performers won't be able to convince you that they're enjoying it while getting frostbite.

It's not like this is typical weather . . .

for this area. Some of the coldest weather in 20 years. Sure, it CAN happen, but the Meadowlands are not Green Bay, much less Mount Washington, NH.

It can rain any year the game isn't in a dome. A New Orleans SB could be subject to an freak out-of-season tropical storm.

I like cold weather games, and I understand why the league doesn't, but they shouldn't base future location decisions on fluke weather like this.

After being in the NYC area for as many winters as I have I can safely say that the odds of crappy weather in NYC are pretty good this time of the year.

You're right ... the game in Green Bay was so boring and unattractive last Sunday.

EDITED TO ADD: And nowhere did I suggest all games should be played in bad weather ... Super Bowl or otherwise.

Slag you are right. Super Bowl is all corporate bullshit. Being a season ticket holder when the Eagles went, each team only got 7000 tickets each. Putrid! Every nfl player, whether in the game or not, gets I believe 4 tickets. Total bullshit. All they do is sell them to brokers. When the eagles won the NFC championship game, a good friend of mine was friends with jerry porter from the raiders. We had him call him and ask if we could buy his tickets, and he said he already had an agreement to sell them to a broker. Rediculous!

Rain in Tampa in February isn't the same as rain in NJ in February. It doesn't need to be record cold for it to be too uncomfortable for most people, and a cold rain could be harder to endure for some than a 30-degree day. Not everyone who attends a Super Bowl is 26 and healthy.

I have always thought the SB should be rotated through all of the stadiums. Some years may benefit a cold weather team some years a dome team or even a warm weather team.

It's not like every SB gets played in "bad" weather. There's nothing wrong with a little change of pace. Personally, I've grown tired of Tampa and domes...
