  • For me the bottom line with Sherman is how he plays in the SB

He's set the bar pretty high through his actions and he will be challenged during the game. The biggest spotlight of all will be upon him.

If he can back up his words in the Super Bowl more power to him.

I want to see a tete-a-tete with Mr McMahon

Then maybe he gives McMahon a stinger when he turns around

That interview last night truly was the McMahon-est McMahon moment of this McMahon controlled season. Just confirmed what we have known all along!

He's the best CB in the league. He "walks the walk".

The issue with Sherman is not just this one incident -- which granted, was his most over-the-top so far. It's who he is. Braggadocio doesn't play well with a lot of people. It was like TO. Most fans around the league found him boorish. Never once heard a coach complain about Owens' dedication to the game or practice behavior. And his talent was evident no matter how much fans disliked him. But extreme self-centeredness comes across as disrespectful to the game.

The game is bigger than the people who play it, even if certain eras are defined by the players and teams of those eras.

Players like Sherman need to be reminded of that. It's why the league clamped down on certain types of celebrating, which in my view was the right thing to do.

Maybe I'm just an old fart hanging on to values that are no longer relevant in the modern world. But I don't like the guy and find it hard to respect him even though his talent, like TO's, is evident. Didn't like Deion either, but I couldn't ignore his talent.
