They should lose the kickoff after touchdowns and just put it at the 20 unless someone wants to try an onsides. They should keep the kickoff at the start and half but move it back ten yards so there are returns again. Bring back the wedge and all that. The extra danger is balanced out by only doing it twice a game.

Agreed. A kickoff is an intrinsic part of the game, and is a definite concern for both teams.

It's hard to believe that they would take what could be the most dramatic plays out of the game. I'm still not sure if it's a misguided attempt to make things better or a blatent pussification to avoid future lawsuits.
