    Still 18,000 superbowl tix left

    Looks like the NFL will have to black out the country if they don't sell out

    Aren't Seattle fans the greatest fans in the history of fandom? The 12th Man not traveling?

    I guess if they're not playing in a stadium built to amplify sound, they don't want to ruin their rep.

      In all honesty who the hell would want to go there? If I was spending near 2000 on tickets alone and couldn't even tailgate I'd tell them to go screw themselves. That's an insult. You can't be dropped off at the game, you need to use the certain transportation systems and a beer is like 18 bucks. No thanks.

        If the Eagles were playing the Superbowl in Anchorage Alaska I would be there. It's a one in a lifetime event. The SeaChickens may never get back again in the next 30 years.

          Don't get me wrong, I love the eagles just about more than anything in life but tailgating is close to half the fun. Getting ready for the game in the parking lot, cooking on the grill, and drinking of course can't be duplicated. Sure I would love to go if our birds were playing but it definitely takes a little steam out of the engine for me.

            also if you're a seattle fan you're probably dropping like 4k to go to the game. and sit around a bunch of people who don't care about the game. stubhub doesn't even guarantee the exact location of its super bowl seats(which is why you're not hearing the whole "sit where you want" thing). if you want to take your family you're spending 10-12k. not a lot of people have that kind of money.

              500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.

                Sure, I'd pay $600 bucks to sit in an open air stadium in those conditions to watch a football game when my team's not playing!

                    There was a blurb on Sirius yesterday about how many NYC area hotels are lowering their rates to below normal because they "grossly underestimated" the demand.

                    I'd love it if this were Goodell's undoing.

                      The weather's not going to be that bad.

                      Although I wish it was going to be that bad because it would favor the Seahawks and would f* over Goodell.

                      Accuweather currently says high of 43 and low of 28 on Sunday. Winds are going to be 7 mph with gusts of 12 mph. Not bad football weather. Plenty of sold out exciting Eagles playoff games have been played in weather conditions much worse.

                      I wanted this to be a blizzard experience but according to the forecast it's unlikely to happen.

                      The one wildcard is that there is the possibility of some precipitation arriving some time Saturday/Sunday. But as of right now the forecast for the Super Bowl looks decent: no precipitation, chilly but not super freezing.

                              I love it when smug arrogance gets its comeuppance.

                              It's laughable that Goodell really thought people would pay that kinda cash to ride a crowded bus and then sit in the cold while surrounded by disinterested rich pricks. People in NYC get to do that every day for $2.25.

                              I hope the empty seats get broadcast nationwide.
