If you can shelf the "another team before us" (US) bit, which I understand is difficult for many, think of how awesome it is that this team of young guys who aren't NFL darlings or media royalty came out and kicked the Broncos ass. Manning, DRC, Moreno, Decker, Welker...all these smug assholes. Personally, I watch this league to be entertained, the highest form of entertainment will of course be the team I love winning the thing, but it's pretty encouraging to see a team like Denver eat shit. A man can have a lot of confidence that next year a team like the Eagles really does have a shot to win, and they don't necessarily need to play 2nd fiddle to a team like the Giants, Patriots, Steelers, or whoever else the league can cash in on. Seattle winning is good for fans of smaller market teams who are sick of the same old same old. How would you feel this morning seeing Manning on the cover of the paper? And listening to every office NFL expert and fantasy football nerd canonize Elway/Manning. This is sweet! Looking forward to next season!!! Go Eagles!!!

The only downside to it is the Seahawks are a young team and should have the pieces in place to become a NYG/Pitt/Patriots type franchise. With that cast, the Seahwaks hoisting the Lombardi is a movie we might see many sequels to.
Oddly enough, I feel better than ever about the Eagles chances, even with Seattle/SF being set up for long term success. Both of those teams have shown what a progressive thinking coach can do when hitting on the draft and making smart free agent choices. Hopefully Chipper and Howie become the next Baalke/Harbaugh or Schneider/Carroll.Last edited by Sect 236; 02-03-2014, 09:22 AM.

Wilson needs to get paid and so do all of the young defenders now that they are SB champs.
Seattle had to go for it now, 'cause they see the cap train coming down the tracks...heck of a group they assembled, but unlike the days of the Steel Curtain, you can't keep them all anymore
