  • Looks like they used tracks for the Super Bore halftime show.

I thought it was pretty obvious.

In the Red Hot Chili Geezers defense they did come clean about it.

I agree that it's obvious. I think in that type of setting, it's just expected. Too many variables that could cause it to not be perfect, so the artists and the brass paying the bills probably agree to that pretty early in the process.

Here's the funny thing to me. What was the song the Red Hot Chili Peppers were "playing" with their guitars unplugged? An ironic bit of commentary on their part, perhaps?

I didn't pay too much attention to the song but I'm curious if this conversation went down before the show:

Roger Goodell: Now, boys, the network has a problem with some of your lyrics. Do you mind changing them for the show?

        Anthony Kiedis: Forget you, clown.

Chad Smith: Yeah, our lyrics are like our children, man. No way.

Roger Goodell: Well, okay, but here where it says, "What I got you gotta get and put it in ya," how about just, "What I'd like is I'd like to hug and kiss ya."

        Flea: Wow. That's much better.

Song was exactly that one. "Give it away."

Just like they were doing by playing without being plugged in.

                And Flea responds.

It sounds as if the NFL left them no choice. But they DID sing the songs.

As soon as they started playing it, the Krusty Comeback Special popped into mind.
