I'm actually pissed about only the data charges ... but that's only because my daughter instagrammed (I shit you not) 1400 pictures one month.

They've reduced my data from unlimited to 2 gigs but I never use close to that because I don't stream or instagram blah blah blah.

Now, on the TV thing, cheer up ... pretty soon it will all be digital on the net and supposedly, you'll be able to buy on a more a la carte basis.

I cannot wait for this day to come. I think what needs to happen is the networks have to come up with a price point and licensing details, so they still have the megadeals with the cable providers, but sell access to the Roku/Apple TV/other devices for $XX per month.

Only thing that happens then is you'll get fucked when your cable provider jacks up your internet cost.

all of her memory in her iPod Touch within two months. Then went out and bought one with more memory. I was like, "Why don't you just delete some of the bazillion pictures you have in there?" and she goes "They're all important to me." GUH?

I went to college in Binghamton. I grew up 20 miles away. I could afford to call my mom once a week for a few minutes. It cost an arm and a leg in 1979 dollars. It was cheaper for me to take the Broome transit bus (free to students) to the bus station and buy a Trailways bus ticket ($3 round trip) home and see my mom in person than to talk on the phone 5 minutes.
