While I agree his example was deeply flawed, his talking point that going forward corporate insurance is in for a huge change is spot on.
As far as individual policies are concerned everyone I have talked to that had to change insurance is seeing at the very least a doubling of deductibles.
I just don't see how some of these people are going to be able to pony up the deductible until the insurance kicks in.

Can't imagine why "family plans" wouldn't be some kind of "hidden factor" when determining the next round of layoffs or hires.
The problem is it's a no-win situation for companies large and small. If you tell an employee that you are cutting HC benefits, your a bad guy, they don't want to know why.
If you tell them you are going to start charging more for non-employee members, your a bad guy, everybody thinks that things should always just get better, and it just doesn't work that way.Last edited by Eagle Road; 02-10-2014, 01:45 PM.

I know what he should have said, and he's getting paid big bucks not to stick his foot in his mouth.
I'm glad he's stupid enough to kept it real.
... and those bonuses I joke about...there's a good chance that employees in human resource and management missed bonuses that are tied such expenditures.
"Hey, did you hear Karen has a newborn on life support?" "Fuck, there goes my Christmas vacation!"
