Dallass sportscaster has a shocking reaction to Sam announcing he's gay
I didn't think you could make a stupider statement on this subject ... but clearly I was wrong.
Coming out is called coming out for a reason.
More importantly, a civil right is a civil right.
There is no difference in it being a right ... the element of choice is irrelevant, provided the expression harms nobody.
Your attempt to manufacture a difference shows a choice you make, ie. to only be interested in supporting a harmless civil right when you agree with the expression.
Not to get side tracked, but you also say definitively that homosexuality is not a choice.
I'm not saying you are right or wrong, but its not definitive.
It may be a choice to act if you were born a homosexual but science has shown that homosexuals brains are wired different. Different things trigger hormones in the brain that lead to sexual stimulation.
No, I haven't stated anything remotely close to that.
On the other hand, it's pretty clear that you feel tolerance of sexual preference is more important than tolerance of religious belief.
He isn't saying that he isn't tolerant of Christian beliefs. He is pointing out that Christians are not subject to the same level of intolerance generally. I am an n of one on that. I Christian and am 55 and have never been subject to any intolerance unless you count my girlfriends parents in college not telling her grandmother that she was dating me because I wasn't of her religion.

Tebow and everyone else in this country has every right to religion. I'm not disputing that even if I disagree with his choice of religion as I'm sure others disagree with mine. But I'm disagreeing with a choice and/or the method he uses to express that choice.
Tebow received flak because he OVERTLY displayed his religion and then received excessive fanfare and coverage because of it (he has plenty of supporters that want more Tebow). The level of coverage of him exceeded he actually football related talent. If his chosen profession was religious leader then fine, increase his popularity based on religion. But it's not. It's football, and as a football player he was mediocre at best regardless of being treated as something special. That's why he got flak. It's bullshit to say it was just because of his religion. I'm sure the majority of NFL players (say they) are Christian and some are known to be very devout e.g. Brian Dawkins. But their pubic displays of religion are not what got them coverage on ESPN to excessive degree like Tebow.
Regardless, being gay or straight is not a choice. Just like skin color and sex are not choices. There is nothing to disagree with when it comes to those characteristics of a human. They're facts. There is no right to be one of those things or the others. There are rights that you are not discriminated for being what you are born as.
Coming out is simply the public acknowledgement of sexual orientation. Because it's not a superficial trait like skin color it's acknowledged publicly by the gay person or not. That doesn't make it a choice. It makes it a choice to let people know. Insensitivity over being told that is akin to not knowing someone was black and being upset/treating them differently because they showed you their skin color.
You're a lawyer, how can this concept be so complicated? I'm not denying the rights of anyone. I'm saying that the right to choose a religion is different from the right to BE what you are born as.
There is no scientific evidence that says someone is born as a homosexual. The brain and this issue is more complex than you would like it to be. If homosexuals brains are wired differently, than its reasonable to think that scientists would be able to identify homos during earlier stages of life. But that's not true.
Maybe its a learned behavior, maybe its a biological predisposition and maybe its a combination of both.

Granted it may be enviromental and not birth... regardless it is not a choice. but in the end it is different stimuli that cause the chemical reactionsof love and lust in a homosexual vs a heterosexual.
