...to the artsy cinematography and superlative acting, I just can't turn away. The slow pace the first several episodes feels like it should bore you, but instead it draws you in. There is a "holy shit" revelation every week.

Some of the finest storytelling and most artful filmmaking on the small screen I have ever seen.

I watched Walking Dead and Shameless after True Detective last night. This show has ruined all the other shows that currently air on Sunday nights.

I was almost bored watching the other two when compared to the awesomeness that is TD.

The most significant thing (spoiler)

I picked up last night was during the interrogation with the guy who killed the two people in the pharmacy ... him saying that the real killer is powerful person.

Then when Cohle storms out of his modern day interview, he calls the two detectives company men, or something like that, suggesting that they are maybe in on the cover up.

They're trying to pin it on Cohle, but there is a suggestion that Cohle's looking for the real guy and doesn't trust anyone.

From the second we met Rev. Tuttle whose cousin is the Governor of Louisiana, I had a feeling he was going to be involved in the murders somehow. I know last night they said he passed away in the early 2000s, but I think they're setting it up that he's one of the major players in the murders.
