      Emaciated Bill Parcells?

Why is he so thin in the face? I'm just kidding. I know it's Bill Russell.

I was at a Knicks game at MSG some years ago when my buddy pointed out Walton, who was seated nearby I guess because he was in town to broadcast the Knicks on the weekend. Well, that was that for me. At halftime I went over to Walton, who was entertaining the grubby autograph seekers like me, and asked him to sign my ticket, telling him "I really enjoyed watching you play basketball." He said, "thanks." That's my Bill Walton story.

He was dancin' in the aisles at a Dead Show here in SoCal and I didn't know who he was from behind. I was going to ask him to slide over a couple of feet so we could see the show past this towering dude.

When he turned around and I saw who it was, I just mumbled and stumbled away.

He does a lot of great stuff in San Diego, and IG you can ask him about the 1/2 million dollar pergola in the park behind his house...

John Wooden knew how to coach big men. He made Alcindor learn the skyhook. Made sure his big men used the backboard. Walton banked everything.

                  Boy, those days are gone.

                    check this out...especially you youngsters

Worth the five minutes. He shot 21 for 22 in this game, and like you said, his banker was automatic. But my favorite play here comes at the 1:00 minute mark on the vid. Absolutely sick pass.

                            Oh. One more thing.

Send a copy to Oprah yet?

And Bill was another one of those guys where the Sixers got the number one pick in the draft one year off.

Doug Collins was a nice player, but Walton would have been an incredible piece for that team.

I'm surprised that we don't see more of that kind of pass these days. Seems everybody wants to hold on to the ball for too long.

Oh...and slowpoke reader that I am, I finally finished it. Terrific job. And I put up a glowing review on amazon.
