Charles Godfrey has a good chance to get cut by the Panthers and is a better player. Mitchell has attitude and hits hard, but is also just ok in coverage and apt to get dumb penalties.

The problem as I see it is that they need 2 safeties. I think Wolff is okay but you just can't hand him the job. I would love Byrd but because we need two you can't break the bank on one.

In a perfect world... Safety is a very underrepresented position in the NFL and having two really good safeties is rare. They could sign some middle of the pack FA to compete with Wolff.

They need to address the salary disparity between positions. It's seriously going to compromise the quality of certain positions in the NFL. TE's want to be paid like receivers, Safeties want to be paid like CB's, etc...

I'm not sure that Godfrey is better. They really hate him down here in NC.
