Hate to say this but for a first round pick i'd at least think about it.

I think this is the only way this ever goes down. This trade happens on draft day to jump up to take an equally explosive player, or it doesn't happen.

DJax has game-changing speed. Chip Kelly will not trade that away without a comparable replacement.

Would you do it to move up for Mike Evans?.. 6'5" 230...reported a couple days ago he will visit the Eagles. Projected to go between picks 10-15.

...This logic is flawed. The Birds (allegedly) want to trade Jax b/c the draft is so deep w/ elite receivers.

Why would any team want to give up a first round pick in that draft for a supposed headcase who's unhappy with his contract (allegedly)????
The Eagles are boneheads. This is one of the top 10 biggest bonehead trades in the history of the NFL. - Chris Cooley 9/15/2010

The only team I could see doing this is Carolina. They are in a win now mode. A rookies WR isn't going help this team now with Steve Smith gone.

Jackson is one of the top 100 players in the league at any position. That's upper 3 percent of the 1,800 plus nfl players. Anybody who can't see that doesn't know what they're looking at. Yes, he's an elite player.

Jeremy Maclin is not an elite player. Riley Cooper is not an elite player. Darren Sproles is no longer an elite player. Brent Celek is not an elite player. Jury is still out if Foles is an elite player.

So the offense has 3, maybe 4 elite players. McCoy, Peters, Jackson, and perhaps Mathis. Makes no sense to trade one of the leagues elite players for a wish and a prayer that some rookie WR is going to successfully make the jump to the nfl and be elite. We already know no other eagles WR is in that category.

I rather they draft a unknown rookie and get rid of a 82 catch 1332 yards 9 TD probowler. Yep! that sounds logical.

There's no mistaking that if they traded him for ANY rookie, they would be downgrading talent. The only reason this would make sense is if DJax truly has become the locker-room headache the Philly media is trying to portray him as.

DJax has uncommon ability. You don't trade that unless he's truly undermining your program...which may or may not be a media fabrication.

but 100/1800 is not 3%. It's like more than 5%. Even if we assume each NFL team is 53 men plus 8 scout team guys, that's ~100/1952 or still over 5%.

I think your point still stands that Jackson is a very good receiver. However, there are simply a ton of receivers in the league that are on his level. Not just 10 and maybe not 20. He's certainly not AJ Green, Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Brandon Marshall or Demaryius Thomas - all of whom are legit "throw the ball to them" receivers.

DJax is also a declining commodity relative to his style of play. The guys I just mentioned can last in the league much longer than a small speedy guy. Finding another one shouldn't be all that hard and it's not like FF is drafting anymore.

I like the guy and I generally agree, but there are a lot of other guys I'd rather have.
