  • The way Jackson's contract is structured is the root of all this drama with Jackson.

It's not the dollar amounts, it's the way the thing is structured to give the team all the leverage.

With no guaranteed money it's easier for the Eagles to consider trading Jackson.

It also makes Jackson less secure in his standing with the team and probably contributed to his mouthing off.

    Thank you Joe Lo.

This was the same problem with Owens. All the guaranteed money up front, so that cutting the for whatever reason poses no cap hit.

JoeLo won several Salary Cap Bowl rings with contract management like this.

Here is the scenario I was thinking of today--

      1. We know his 10.5M is not guaranteed. However, any person who had the kind of season he had last year in YR 1 of Kelly's offense would think that he is not going anywhere, however--

      2. What if all the whispers about his attituded behind closed doors in the locker room are true and he has had run ins not with just the WR coach, but with Kelly also? This could have lead him to believe he was a candidate for trade or being cut which is why he all of sudden asked that his contract contain more guaranteed money? Because 2 days after a close playoff loss is definitely not the time to be talking about wanting your contract guaranteed.

His contract is structured differently than Owens. Owens deal was 15M I think, upfront, he had a 2M 2nd year and then his 3rd year was 6.5M. They also structured it in a way they took the whole cap hit in the first year--with Jackson, if they cut or trade him this year, there is still 6M in dead money they have to count.

Yep, and the SAME agent wrote/agreed to both contracts. hmmm

a crook like Jimmy Haslam sniffed Banner's bullshit out within a year and gave him the Isaiah Thomas treatment immediately.

Yet it took Lurie 14 years for his BFF to pursue other opportunities.

          sickening...

To be fair, there was a time when there was a method to Banner's bullshit. But that time has passed.

maybe but it was known pretty early on in his time here you didn't cross him or you found yourself (or your client) in the middle of a smear campaign almost immediately.

I thought Rosenhaus was the agent for both of those agreements, if not I stand corrected, who were the respective agents?

Boomer & Carton yapping this morning about signing Vick and trading for DJax with the huge cap space the Jets have along with 12 draft picks.

                    Vick, DJax & Decker.

Doubt it happens, but thought I'd mention it.

they'd probably have to get to #3 (Jacksonville) to make sure. 18 plus 22 in the first probably would not be enough.

This is all so fucking crazy...I'm out.
