Says the guy who told me "give Asomugha some time he's not the problem" and repeatedly proclaimed before the Chip hiring that "he will be the next Steve Spurrier don't sign him"

It was a rather weak free agent class on the defensive side of the ball this year. The days of overpaying for big names are gone. Chips going to continue to add solid pieces (Jenkins, Carroll) and build through the draft.
Cooks or any other rookie are gonna have to come in and EARN that respect, just like DeSean Jackson had to. Stop acting like losing DeSean Jackson and replacing him with a rookie is no big deal. This team needs safeties and linebackers FIRST, not some rookie wide receiver. They already have a good receiver. One who just came off of a Pro Bowl season, and had a career year his very first season in this offense. You want to go with an unproven rookie instead of a veteran who's just proved that he can flat out thrive in this type of offense. You've been reading too much Spadaro, come back to reality.

There are several players they can't lock up until after the season, and they can carry the cap room forward, it will not be dead money if not used.

How about the defense? They aren't winning shit with this defense.

I'm still waiting for the part where you tell me what DeSean brings to this offense besides speed.... And fuck Houseman.

Chip inherited arguably the worst defense in Eagles history. Not a quick fix but no one on this board can complain with last season. I think the top 2 safety's will be off the board at #22. Wilfork wants out of New England.

If it's that bad, wouldn't you prefer to address that side of the ball in the first-round? It's not like safety is the only position they need.

I'm not sure a 32-year old guy, pushing 350, with a bad wheel, looking for more money is the answer either.

Good defenses are built through the draft.

I didn't think Wilfork wanted more $, he was just against a paycut and was asking for his release. He's still a premier NT in this league. Everyone needs to take a step back from the ledge and wait for the whole off season to play out.

THAT'S what he brings. His SPEED was a huge part of that. My God, did you even watch last year ??

HAHA your the delusional if you think he's putting up those numbers now having to share the ball with Maclin and Sproles. There are better recievers than DJax on the board at #22 which is exactly why the Eagles cant get shit for him from other teams.

How do you know what they can or can't get for him?

Wow. So now you're saying that a rookie who's never even set foot on an NFL field, or memorized ONE PLAY from Chip Kelly's offense is BETTER than DeSean Jackson ?? But I'm the one who's delusional. Are you sure you're not in cahoots with Spuds ? Why don't you tell us all how Nate Allen reminds you of Ronnie Lott in his prime.

Yes and this offense WILL BE BETTER....

I think this fan base has been watered down with such shit at receiver over the years that now you are viewing DJax as a hall of famer. Hes a good receiver but c'mon man take the blinders off this team will be fine.
