  • Separation: what separates DJax from the crowd

watch a college game and guys who get open are WIDE OPEN compared to the pros. Guys who are "open" in the pros are much less so and for a quick instant. the window a QB has to hit is smaller and open less time.

DeSean Jackson gets open like a college receiver, but in the pros. He really cant be covered well one on one. He is almost always open in that situation.

It really makes me laugh when people compare Riley Cooper to Jackson because Cooper had a good half season and say that Cooper has a better "chemistry" with Foles. Define this for me.

I don't really understand the Cooper Scoopers. He's a third receiver who can stand in as a second receiver if needed. I don't see how any of that makes your best receiver replaceable.

Who the fuck is comparing Cooper to Jackson and suggesting Cooper is better?

      Seriously, who's done this?

          To name a name, Weiser.

But there have been posts about Coopers emergence when defending moving on from Jackson.

So this one guy says Cooper is better than Jackson and it's an epidemic worthy of attention?

            Come on.

And I have seen the media mention the signings of Cooper and Macklin and Sproles and Ertz as the slot as indicative of an indication the Eagles don't need Jackson that much ... not Cooper alone.

                easy, counselor

nice trick. where did I say it was "epidemic" ? I will say (and Im NOT going back to give you examples they are legion) of guys on the "dump Jackson" bandwagon bring up Cooper (and Maclin's return) A LOT.

I know you like you some Jackson. But many here hate on the guy because he is a "showboater."

Let's just keep it real that way and NOT hate on him by attempting to diminish the guy's talent.

                That is all.

is that he choked twice in the playoffs on critical plays that made a huge difference in the Eagles losing those games.

and wasn't really thinking of him. but there has been plenty of anti Jackson sentiment on this bored ever since the initial Moser piece on Comcast about the possibility of trading him

Absolutely. He was just the easiest response. That sentiment is alive and well, and I'm not sure why Slagster feels the need to argue that it's not.

                        I really haven't seen it ... seriously.

And I think those trying to diminish his value are whistling past the graveyard because they feel it's becoming more and more inevitable that he's leaving.

There is no football reason IMO to let him go ... and it's even worse for the horseshit return being bandied around.

PS - hating on him for being a showboater isn't comparing him to Cooper

There is no logic in letting him go

None. Unless he is being completely disruptive to the team, to which there have been no reports to that kind of behavior. The guy answered one question about having some of the money he is still owed guaranteed. He didn't go on some "fuck you, pay me" campaign to get more cash. In this league, you can never have enough weapons, and those suggesting that this team will be better off without Jackson are the same ones who will be bitching about this team's performance when they're sitting at third place in the NFC East. He's not easily replaceable. Period. Especially with some rookie who will command no respect from opposing defenses until he proves he can play at the NFL level. This FO better have a damn good reason for doing this shit.
